The Zeeland East varsity baseball team kicked off the season on Tuesday with a conference double-header at Grand Rapids Union. The Chix swept the two games by scores of 16-0 (3 innings) and 10-0 (5-innings). 5 Zeeland East pitchers combined to shut out and no hit the Redhawks in the two games.
In Game 1 Max Salas recorded the win on the mound. Salas pitched 2 perfect innings striking out 4 batters. Koby Windeler hurled the last inning getting a ground out and striking out 2.
Offensively, Austin Keur recorded 4 RBI and a triple while Max Salas and Charlie Lacny each added two hits.
