The JV Chix football team traveled to Holland to play the Holland Dutch on Thursday evening.  The Chix played a strong game and came away with a 44 – 22 victory.  The Chix led 30-16 at halftime, added 2 more scores in the 3^rd quarter and cruised to the victory.  The victory evens the Chix record at 3 – 3 on the season (2 -0 in OK Green).

Offensively, the Chix used a strong running game and an efficient passing game to score 6 touchdowns.  Cebastin Hunderman got the scoring started for the Chix in the first quarter with a 63 yard touchdown run.  That run was part of his 187 yards rushing on the game on just 9 carries.  The Chix then took to the air, as Sam Cochran completed 13 of 16 passes for 152 yards and 4 touchdowns passes.  Brandon Claerbaut had 4 catches for 81 yards and 3 scores, including 42 yard touchdown catch and run with 1 second remaining in the first half.  Nathan Claerbaut added 4 catches for 53 yards and a touchdown.   

Defensively, the Chix only surrendered 164 yards of offense to the Dutch.  Leading the defensive charge was Zach Bellis, who recorded 14 tackles on the game.  Cole Machiela added 7 tackles and Zach Valentine recorded 5 tackles on the game.  Aiden Taylor filled the stat sheet with 4 tackles, 2 tackles for loss, a sack and 3 quarterback pressures on the game.

The Chix are back in action for their last road game of the year on Thursday October 4 at 7pm as they travel to Byron Center to play the Bulldogs.
